When I got together with Sydney and her Mom at Fresca Cafe & Gelato not too long ago, I immediately fell in love with Sydney's fun-loving personality. She was so easy to chat with and her warm laughter made me smile right along with her. As we got to know each other, I became more and more excited about the ideas Sydney had for her Senior Session, but more than that—I was so drawn to things that make Sydney who she is.

This Athens Drive High School senior has more going for her than just her gorgeous looks. She played softball for her school during her freshman and sophomore years, but since 6th grade, she has loved playing softball for the Town of Cary recreation. In fact, she's quite involved in many activities outside of school.

"The organization Teen Korps really inspires me because I love to help the disabled kids play baseball," Sydney said. "They have so much fun and it makes me so happy to see how much they are enjoying themselves. I also get to meet so many new people from different schools. It's a great experience." She loves being a member of Teen Korps to volunteer with events like Miracle League, as well as bingo nights with seniors at Glenaire, and wrapping donated gifts for families at Christmastime.

Sydney sure is driven. "My desire to be successful in life motivates me to try my hardest," she explained. "I know that if I don't try, I will never reach my goal and in the end, I will regret it." Drawing her inspiration from many people, Sydney said that one person stands out for her in that category. "My mom inspires me because she has been through a lot of tough times but she always has a smile on her face and is always doing everything she can to help out and be there for her family and friends."

It's hard for her to believe that it's already her senior year of high school. "I'm looking forward to having a good time with all my friends and making my last year of high school count. I am also looking forward to senior exemptions because I don't have to take any exams!" Sydney smiled. "After graduation, I'll miss seeing my close friends everyday. Most of us are going different ways after high school so it will be upsetting having to say goodbye."

College is definitely on Sydney's horizon. She's got her list of options narrowed to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, College of Charleston, Appalachian State University, and East Carolina University. "I don't know what I want to do with my life yet," she laughed. "Hopefully something with animals, or something with crime like forensics, criminology, or criminal justice."

I did learn that Sydney is quite interesting! Did you know she can recite the alphabet backwards flawlessly or touch her tongue to her nose? She's a vegetarian and proud of it. "Most people think it's weird, but I love animals so much and I could never eat them! All of my friends love meat so I'm always the odd ball," Sydney told me. Also, she loves variety, which is clear in her favorite movies (The Blind Side and Finding Nemo) as well as her music preferences (Hip-Hop/Rap and Country).

Overall, I'm a huge fan of this young lady and see lots of success in her past & potential in her future. I'm also a huge fan of how these images came out at Historic Oak View County Park a couple weeks ago! I'm excited to share these highlights.

Don't you just love her outfits & accessories? Most of them came from Gigi's Boutique in Cary!

Leave Sydney some love in the comments! :)
