Donny | Horlick High School Senior '15
Written by Amber - |
We've had the honor of getting to know Donny (and his entire family!) over the last several years. He just started his senior year at Horlick High School (Racine, WI) and I was thrilled when he contacted us for a Senior Mini Session! He definitely rocked this Session at Petrifying Springs Park a couple weeks ago.
We go to church together, so we're not strangers to Donny's friendly smile, genuine words or musical talents. Even from a young age, he has always played the guitar with excellence and passion. He certainly has a gift for helping to leading people (both youth and adults) in worship. Hearing all about his personal experiences on mission trips have also been a highlight for us with Donny more recently.
When we asked him what keeps him motivated, Donny responded, "My friends and family—not just my home family but also my church family—and knowing that God has my back." Anyone who knows Donny knows that family is important to him. He's a great big brother to two of the cutest little siblings, Jack and Anna, and an encouraging younger brother to his older sister, Maggie, who is a sophomore at Carthage this year. Missy and Don, you must be proud parents! We adore this family and have nothing but positive thoughts and prayers over them, no matter what season of life they find themselves in.
"After graduation, I'll be going to UW–Parkside, most likely, and will be studying for things that will later help me further my goal of becoming a Pastor," Donny told us. Wow! Such a great field to pursue. From what I know about Donny, this is right up his alley and he'll be inspiring and life-giving to so many people.
"Don't spend your days of school looking and waiting for the end of school," Donny encouraged his classmates. "Enjoy class and enjoy the time spent with friends because it will end and you won't get another chance to truly enjoy high school after high school is done. Be positive and try your hardest to enjoy school."
