(Suggested for 6th - 12th grade, limit 12 students)
This standalone Course (four 1.5-hour classes) is part of a 7-part Series, learning each of the 7 Elements of Art (lines, shapes, color, value, texture, form and space). The focus of this Course is Lines, and future Courses will cover the other six elements.
Each class, students will receive age-appropriate, hands-on art lessons to learn about the element, observe famous artists using this concept, and will create a unique work of art in response (ranging in media—drawing, painting, oil pastels, mixed media, etc.). This is not a “follow these steps for this specific art project” type of class, but rather a “learn the concepts and techniques so you can make art of your own with confidence” kind of class.
This Course is loosely inspired by MasterBooks Curriculum: Living Art Lessons. If you would like to follow along at home, this book would be a great supplement, but is not needed for our Course.
If you are interested in turning this into a credit for Homeschool, I can provide additional homework assignments throughout the week for students to accumulate the amount of hours needed to to earn the credit (especially when taken with the whole Series of 7 Courses we offer).
