(Suggested for 6th - 12th grade, limit 12 students)
Students will receive hands-on art lessons to lear importance of one Element of Art: Shapes. Each class they will learn the art concept, observe famous artists using this technique, and will create a unique work of art (ranging in media—drawing, painting, oil pastels, mixed media, etc.) in response. This is not a “follow these steps for this specific art piece” type of class, but rather a “learn the building block and concept of lines so you can make art of your own with confidence” kind of class.
The class is loosely inspired by MasterBooks Curriculum: Living Art Lessons. If you want to follow along at home, I would encourage you picking it up at your own discretion. This is not a requirement for the class, but a way to continue the fun at home.
If you are interested in turning this into a credit for Homeschool, I can provide additional homework throughout the week for them to accumulate the amount of hours need to to earn the credit. This will be paired with taking future courses as well. We can discuss this in more detail the student.
