Now it's the girls' turn: November 19-20, we had our first-ever high school girls' retreat. It was an overnight at the church and we did it up. What a blast we had! The theme was "Empowered" and we were inspired by the life of Esther. We learned about beauty as God sees it, but also destiny, courage and patience for His will in our lives.
There were around 20 girls who attended + 5 leaders. Some had to come late or leave early, but it was such a blessing for each of the girls who were able to be there. Such an amazing group of young ladies. We made dinner together, ate at a banquet like Esther, made t-shirts, played a life-size board game with giant dice, sang together, shared great discussion and even had a tin foil fashion show.
One thing that will never get old: endless laughter (especially in the wee hours of the morning). I've never been much of a "girly girl", but let me tell you, I LOVE our EUM girls and am so encouraged by each and every one of them!
