april snow
Yep, it's mid-April. I triple-checked the calendar. But, knowing full well that this is the great Midwest, I guess I can't be too surprised.
Don't tell anyone I said this, but it's actually quite pretty out this morning. There are huge flakes falling from the sky. The trees are topped with a snow frosting like cupcakes. About an inch of accumulation on the ground so far, but they are calling for up to three when it's all done.
I only wandered around for about ten minutes, and because it's still on the warm side (well, for snow to be falling anyway...), I didn't need gloves. The flakes are the kind that slop you in the face when they land on you. Very wet.
Some of the flakes aren't succeeding with their sticking attempts—much of the snow is melting on impact, like on this railing to the left.
Well, for what it's worth, happy spring, my Midwestern friends!
