st. louis weekend

Back at the beginning of July, we had the opportunity to spend a weekend down in St. Louis with Chad's brother and sister-in-law, Kyle & Kelly. We crammed all kinds of activities into a couple short days. Great memories!

Chad and I rode the train down Friday morning and had to be bused most of the way, unfortunately, due to track construction. Happy to get off the bus, we met Kyle and Kelly that afternoon for a deli lunch across the street from Busch Stadium. It was beautiful & hot. Perfect summer afternoon! The four of us headed to the Cardinals game that evening and had a great time, even though they lost to the D-backs.

Saturday started out with breakfast from Einstein Bros. Bagels (does it get better?) and the St. Louis Zoo. Very impressed with their zoo! The baby monkey, elephants and fighting pelicans were highlights for us, as well as the sharks & stingrays we got to touch/feed. Kelly got soaked by them when they splashed! Oh, and ironically, Sock Monkey enjoyed the spider monkeys.

Later, after Kelly introduced us to the infamous Imo's Pizza (yumm!), we embraced our "tourist" sides and went to the arch for a while. So cool! Some hotel pool time was in order, as well as dinner at Albert Pujols' restaurant and a late night of conversation in our hotel courtyard.

It's always fun getting together with those two. We're looking forward to the next visit!
