This very special wedding day for Jason and Cortney was laced with laughter, love, and Camp traditions, making for one of the most unique [and entertaining!] celebrations we've been a part of.  Although rain drizzled throughout most of the day, not a single smile was withheld. Plus, it was brought to our attention later that a beautifully vibrant double-rainbow was displayed in the Wausau skies after their Marriage Ceremony. A sure sign of double blessings!

Jason and Cortney met as "J-Dawg" and "Mouse" while working as counselors at Camp Sturtevant in Wausau, WI. Over the last seven years, their "Camp family" has been a huge part of their lives and it was extra special when Jason asked Cortney to be his wife, right there at the Camp! It was more than fitting for the bridal party to ride around in the Camp bus for all wedding festivities and be welcomed by a whole slew of Camp-related friends. ...Also, I'm positive we've never experienced a more "spirited" dance floor, which at times could actually be described more accurately as an indoor, singing campfire circle. :)

There was heartfelt emotion and personal sentiment in most facets of this day. A couple of the most memorable were these:

  • The sweet homily and blessing of their marriage by Father Al
  • Any one of the SIX toasts/speeches in honor of the happy couple at the reception
  • The Bride's dance with her brother in memory of their father, which brought tears to many (including me!)
  • The surprise, public serenade by Jason to Cortney—complete with back-up dancers!

These two families were a joy to be around and we couldn't be more happy for a newlywed couple. Chad and I were truly honored to capture the first chapter of Jason & Cortney's married love story.

I am SO excited to share these highlights from their wedding day...
