Happy Easter! On Sunday, Chad and I were visiting with his family down in central Illinois. It was stormy off and on throughout the two days we were there, but this beautiful bouquet of roses certainly livened up the room. They were a breath of fresh air and brought a happy feeling of spring into the room.

This shot was lit by the afternoon sun through the nearby sliding glass door and by the ambient light in the room. I like how the depth of field worked in this shot, dropping the focus off of the flowers in the background. I didn't have my clunky 5D with me, so I captured this image with our Canon PowerShot G11–just goes to show that not all great shots have to be taken with monster cameras.
