We're embarking on a new adventure

Written by Amber -

If you've known me or Chad for any length of time, you probably know that we are not people who are willing to settle for the comfort zone. We're constantly trying to think outside the box as we keep our eyes peeled for the next adventure God has in mind for us. Every year we set aside time to dream about the future, set goals and then put a plan in place to reach them. This year, as we've been wrestling with the "What's next for us" question, we know God has called us to something big.

* Deep breath *

After many months of prayer, thought, research and confirmation, we have decided to move from Kenosha, Wisconsin to Raleigh, North Carolina this September!

It's a new adventure that we're looking forward to for a handful of reasons, but here are the top three:

  1. Our photography business will be able to take full advantage of the warmer climate with nearly year-round shooting opportunities, as well as the buzzing young adult life in the area. We've already met many Raleigh-Durham area photographers and look forward to being part of their thriving community.
  2. Living closer to the "Bible Belt" will be a great location for launching our charitable business / long time dream regarding Bible art for a cause (which is currently undergoing trademarking).
  3. Two of our dear friends from Alabama just moved there, too—we'll be living with them!

However, as you can guess, this is EXTREMELY bittersweet for us... We've made so many friends and connections here in the Kenosha/Racine area. If you count college, we've built our lives here for 11 years!

Big transitions are never easy and lately we've found ourselves on a bit of an emotional roller coaster. Of course we are excited about future opportunities and "firsts" in Raleigh, but our present reality includes sadness over leaving past experiences and "lasts" in Kenosha. It feels good to get this out in the open, but we know that in doing so, we're inviting a new wave of emotions. Every day it feels more "real" but we plan to make the most of our next 65 days!

Thank you in advance for your prayers and encouragement in the process. We hope to see you before we pack up the U-haul.
