A couple weeks ago, I started my second 365 photo project—a photo a day for an entire year. After successfully completing my first year of intentional photo documentation of my own life, I am absolutely addicted and thrilled to be starting a second year's worth of photos. It was definitely the best decision I have ever made and I want to share three reasons why, in hopes that you (yes, YOU) will start one of your own.

Read MoreToday was extra special for our family. Together with several other families from church and their children, we dedicated our son, Elias, to the Lord. I will deeply cherish these images from the event that commemorate the day we made a promise to Elias as his parents and declared words of affirmation over him. We decided to share the letter we wrote to him as a public declaration.
Read MoreI still remember the exact feeling I had on that day six years ago. It was equally exhilarating and terrifying at the same time... This post is all about what the last six years have held for us and the dreams we have for the next six.
Read MoreYesterday, on October 3, this world gained a new, precious and perfect little life. Help me welcome, London Kennedy! It was my honor and privilege to photograph these very special family moments a couple hours after she was born.
Read More"Here's my wallet," he said to me on our way into Target while pushing the stroller. "Go order something over there at Starbucks and sit while I pick up what we need in the store with Elias." Really??? How did I get so lucky to have such a sensitive husband and dedicated father to our son?? I absolutely LOVE being a mom, but with a 24/7 laser-focus on the needs of someone else, I rarely stop to consider how far away I have pushed my own needs and desires. In this post, I talk about 8 things I haven't admitted or realized I have needed.
Read MoreIn the spirit of back-to-school, I began reminiscing my own "first day of school" memories. Photographing a special "last first day of school" for the senior class of a Raleigh high school yesterday had me thinking deeply about milestones in general. It's a special privilege to be able to see what the past looked like through photographs—both to celebrate it and to dream about the future. Some of these image highlights got me a little teary inside as they transported me back to my own "last firsts."
Read MoreI had been in the habit of blogging about 3 times a week. Toward the end of last year, that began to taper down to about once a week, and now it has been about 7 months since my last post. I’m not even upset about it. Why? I’m SO excited to share with you all, actually. There were three pretty big reasons I took a break from blogging, and it has been one of the most transitional, challenging and refreshing times of my entire life. I’ve been posting daily on Instagram (@amberlanghoff), but it’s about time I filled you in here…
Read MoreLists on lists on lists… Are you a list-maker, too? Do you want or need to be? From napkins & dry-erase markers on windows, to notebooks, to fancy list-making apps, Chad and I make ‘em all. As I sit here re-organizing my life & business today, I thought I would share with you my favorite list-making methods that help keep me organized [and sane].
Read MoreChad and I have been traveling around the Midwest to visit our families. While on the train today, I began thinking about my favorite family memories and realized that some from JUNE deserve to be posted before I make even more memories over the next few days. Here are some highlights from the day Chad and I got to babysit our 16-month-old niece and observe my sister's sweet family.
Read MoreJake loves Brooke. Like, so much so, that he doesn't want to spend the rest of his life with anyone else... On Christmas Eve, surrounded by Brooke's family in Raleigh, he surprised her with a marriage proposal. It turns out, Brooke loves Jake quite a bit, too, because she said Y-E-S ! It was such an honor for Chad and I to photograph these two lovebirds a couple days after the proposal when their excitement was still super fresh.
Read MorePEACE to you and yours on this Christmas Day! Today, Chad and I are soaking in peace, quiet and calm—it's our last Christmas as a family of two and our last one in an apartment. We slept in, cozied up on the couch, made a pancake breakfast and went for a walk (it's 75° today—warmer than it was over a month ago when these pictures were taken!).
Read MoreAaron and Allison are happily married. They're dog people (as Bear will joyfully attest to). They're coffee people. They're adventurers, Jesus-lovers, Gospel-spreaders, motorcycle enthusiasts, artists, photographers and lovers of people. They are storytellers for so many others (including Chad and I!), so what an honor it was for me to document THEIR story during their favorite season together—Christmastime! A Real Life Session inside their cozy Fort Mill home was perfect to capture their genuine laughter and love for each other.
Read MoreMitch and Jenna are great friends of ours. When we lived in Wisconsin together, we were especially blessed by their friendship and involvement in our lives. Any moment now, we'll all be expecting an announcement from this family regarding the arrival of Baby Boy #2! I'm SO glad we snagged these documentary family photos of them back in July when we visited, as their season of life is very quickly about to change. I love these photo highlights...
Read MoreI’ve been pretty distracted lately, much more moody than normal, and definitely more hungry than normal (if you can believe that). Chad has been SO supportive & encouraging every day. We’re loving “home” in North Carolina and have been soaking it in one adventure at a time over the last year—it seems our next adventure will include a baby! Hearing his or her little heartbeat for the first time yesterday made it much more real for us. Lord-willing, we’re due April 30th!
