Brooke | Case High School Senior '14

Written by Amber -

Talk about a go-getter! This is Brooke—she's a senior at Case High School (Racine, WI) and it was our honor to do her Senior Session this past September. She's such a sweetheart! How can you not smile when you hear her giggle or talk about her love for people & plans she has for her future??

Brooke is counting the days until she heads out to Minnesota State University in the fall, but until then, she's just looking forward to the completion of all of her IB testing! Back in October, Brooke said May 16th couldn't come soon enough... "It will be all hard work until then!" SO CLOSE, Brooke! Keep it up!

Brooke's full Senior Session can be viewed in her online gallery. I hope you enjoy these photo highlights as you read her story...

Brooke is different than most high school students I've met. I couldn't quite put my finger on why, but as I got to know more about her heart for others, devoted involvement in her various communities, take-charge mentality, and her wide range of interests in the world, it became obvious.  She's simply inspirational!

"I have an obsession with making everyone in the room feel comfortable," Brooke said. "I've been known to befriend some of the most shy people and make them break out of their shell."

Brooke says she's a typical girl, but thinks she might be a professional talker. (I think I can relate! Haha!) "I love getting a chance to speak in front of a group, and I am already thinking of what I will say in my graduation speech!"

"I'm a major club person," Brooks admitted. "I'm in Key Club (volunteering), International Club, Model UN/OAS, Link Leaders, Spirit Squad and I am Co-President of Student Government."

Brooke also described a new project called "I am Norm" that she's working on. It's purpose is to break the barrier between special education students and mass student body. How cool is that?

"While discussing the new group 'I am Norm,' one of my favorite advisers of all time, the Case activities director Eugene Syvrud, looked at me and said, 'We are all different, and that is normal.'" This well-timed, awesome little tidbit remains to be the best advice Brooke has received.

When you talk to Brooke, it's super obvious that she absolutely LOVES high school. She says there are so many "favorite memories" from her time in high school that it's difficult to narrow down to just a couple. After thinking, she said, "My favorite would be my senior year homecoming football game."

Regarding her senior year homecoming football game, Brooke added, "I worked really hard to get professional fireworks for the game (so worth it), so those were awesome. I was on homecoming court and got paired up with a good friend and though we did…

Regarding her senior year homecoming football game, Brooke added, "I worked really hard to get professional fireworks for the game (so worth it), so those were awesome. I was on homecoming court and got paired up with a good friend and though we didn't win, the parade at halftime and excitement of it all was amazing. I still can't believe I was on court.. so honored. Also my little brother is a lineman on the team (sophomore) and watching him kick-butt and take the win, in a nail-biting game was AMAZING. I literally could not stop cheering. Moral of the story, I love Case, my class, fireworks, football and my brother."

After high school, Brooke is excited to become a Maverick at Minnesota State University (Mankato, MN). "I cannot possibly thank my family, teachers, and friends enough for getting me here. Go Mavericks!" Her dream is to be in the United Nations…

After high school, Brooke is excited to become a Maverick at Minnesota State University (Mankato, MN). "I cannot possibly thank my family, teachers, and friends enough for getting me here. Go Mavericks!" Her dream is to be in the United Nations, so she'll begin by studying Pre-Law and Global Studies.

Although Brooke is excited to take the next step in her life, at this point, it's hard to imagine day-to-day life without her friends from Case around her. "I've seriously met the best people ever!"

Brooke is so thankful for her family. "My family is my motivation. My Mom always jokes, 'Don't be mediocre' and my siblings and I live by it."

To all of Brooke's underclassmen, she says, "Be yourself, people will love you!" To her fellow graduating seniors, she says, "You all rock, go show this world what you got!"

Congratulations, Brooke! We're excited to hear all about how you take this world by storm. You've left a huge impact on your communities at Case High School and in Racine...now go get Mankato and beyond!
